Youth Development Program
Time and again, surfing has proven to be a great way for people to become one with nature. There is very little is this world that feels as free and peaceful as gliding over the surface of a big body of water on nothing more than a fiberglass surfboard. While there is no denying some people simply have a knack or talent for surfing, it’s important to know that surfing can still be a great source of enjoyment for everyone from small children all the way up to seniors citizens who enjoy reliving their younger years.
The Importance of Starting Young
The younger someone can start learning to do something, the better they stand to become as the years go by. When it comes to surfing, it’s far easier to teach surfing techniques to youngsters before they pick up any bad habits. In fact, the younger they are, the faster they tend to learn. By the time they understand the physical aspects of the sport, it will be time for them to learn things such as surfing theory and wave patterns. At Latitude Surf Experience in Costa Rica, a Youth Development Program has been developed to provide a training ground for boys and girls who want to learn how to surf for simple recreation or with competition in mind.
The Youth Development Program
The Youth Development Program at Latitude Surf Experience has been designed to teach younger surfers with basic surfing skills how to move forward and become more proficient at what they do. The initial requirements for joining the program include nothing more than the kids having a surfboard of their own and enough basic skills to pop up on the board and ride basic waves without hesitation or assistance. With those basic requirements forming a baseline, each child will get personal instruction on the art of surfing. They will be taught the science of surfing both in theory and then in actual technique.
